The STARR Technique

The STARR technique is a method commonly used to answer interview questions. It helps you structure your responses effectively by providing specific examples from your past experiences. The acronym "STARR" stands for:

Situation: Describe the context or background of the situation you encountered. Provide enough detail to help the interviewer understand the circumstances.

Task: Explain the specific task or challenge you were faced with in that situation. What were you responsible for achieving or resolving?

Action: Detail the actions you took to address the task or challenge. Be specific about the steps you took and the strategies you employed.

Result: Describe the outcomes or results of your actions. What happened as a result of your efforts? Were there any measurable achievements or impacts?

Reflection:  Where have you done this in the past, what did you learn?

By following the STARR framework, you can provide a structured and comprehensive response to interview questions, showcasing your abilities and experiences effectively. This method helps interviewers assess your problem-solving skills, decision-making abilities, and overall competency based on concrete examples from your past experiences.
